A Spanish dancer, in front of an inn in the Spanish mountains, is courted by a smuggler, who asks her to marry him. She agrees. Later, in the dancer's room, another man enters and declares his love for her. The smuggler, entering unnoticed, hears the declaration of love, and a violent argument breaks out between the two rivals for the dancer's affection. The suitors travel to a remote spot in the mountains and fight to the death; the smuggler wins the fight when the other suitor falls over a precipice. Returning to the dancer's room, the smuggler comes to meet his beloved, but the dancer refuses him when she finds out he killed his rival. The smuggler stabs himself in despair. The dancer, running to his corpse, touches his hands, and is repulsed to find them covered with blood.

An ambitious but financially strapped taxi driver becomes involved with mobsters to obtain money to buy a gas station.

Three children and their Grandpa are on a kayak-outdoor trip in the middle of nowhere. What was supposed to be a relaxed summer weekend with some nice small adventures turns into serious trouble when their Grandpa suffers a heart attack in the middle of the wilderness. Nobody can hear the children screaming, the mobile phone has no net, nobody is in sight or even close. The children are completely on their own - with an old man in a small boat who does not move any more and is barely breathing.

This is a story of two lovers, Luke and Laurette. Luke is the grandson of a rich Texas family who raised him after the death of his parents. Laurette is daughter of a blue-collar worker. They have different worlds, different lifestyles... What if they meet? After a car accident with his fiancée, Luke can no longer walk without the assistance of orthopedic canes. Because of his disability, his fiancée leaves him. While at a barbecue at his best friend's home, Luke then meets Laurette.

Moscow, January 1948. In the bitter cold, a large crowd attends the State Funeral of the Yiddish actor and director Solomon Mikhoels. An official proclamation mourns the death of "a great People's Artist of the Soviet Union." What people are really mourning is the death of the most popular Jewish theater in the Soviet Union, and the man who kept it alive against all odds for over 20 years. No doubt many suspected the truth: he had just been assassinated by Stalin's secret police.
